UPTOWN — A pop-up store offering free secondhand Halloween costumes for kids will open in an Uptown bar this weekend. The Boot-tique will take place 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at My Buddy’s, 4416 N. Clark St., where families can grab a costume for their kids to wear on Halloween, free of charge and no questions asked, according to organizers. The pop-up is aimed at helping families avoid spending money on Halloween costumes at a time when the cost of living is so high, according to the organizers.  The event is being hosted by Far North Side officials and partners including Demi Palecek, Democratic nominee for 13th District State Representative; Daniel Biss, Democratic nominee for the 9th Congressional District; Ald. Andre Vasquez (40th); and Kat Abughazaleh, former Congressional candidate and founder of the Rogers Park-based mutual aid organization KAPOW.  Event details for Boo-tique, a free store for Halloween costumes.
